3 Art Walls in Wynwood to Visit this Summer in Miami, FL!

IT’S SUMMER TIME! ☀️

3 New Art Walls in Wynwood Art District:

Coming from a Native Floridian who lives on the west coast of the state in Naples, I travel to Miami a little too often. (As one should!) Miami is mainly known for South Beach, which is nice if you’re looking for more of a tropical atmosphere. But the GEM many haven’t discovered in Miami is the Wynwood Art District.

It’s probably the closest hipster area to Austin filled with modern art galleries, art murals, the dopest coffee shops, boutiques and so much nightlife! If you’re looking for some GREAT-Instagrammable content…you may want to keep reading because I’ve put the exact location of where you can find 3 new art walls in Wynwood along with details of my OOTD which might come in handy with our weather!

BTW, are you following me on Instagram yet? If not, follow me here! 🤗

This wall literally looks like a cauliflower-flower tattoo drawn on a huge chalkboard, doesn’t it? I was obsessed as soon as I laid my eyes on it. The coolest thing about Wynwood is you’ll see art like this in every corner. Like this one, located at the corner of NW 24th st and NW 2nd ave at the Shinola store. Trust me, I wasn’t the only one taking photos at this time, its always packed!

This wall is perfect for a bright and colorful outfit, like mine! Located at the corner of NW 23rd st and NW 1st pl…this street offers some of the dopest hot spots like El Patio (nightlife) and a delicious lunch spot called the Butter shop.

So, for anyone who is interested in something other than travel and being a foodie…I have some ootd tips when being in Wynwood!

  1. Wear comfortable shoes. I’ve been such a sneaker head lately- obsessed with these Cole Haan shoes that can be worn anywhere, anytime.
  2. Cotton or Linen. All the way, all day. Unless you want to be drenched in sweat. I’m not even kidding, the humidity here is insane! Thats why I wore a over-sized cotton shirt to keep me as cool as possible.
  3. Pack light. If you are traveling, please leave all suitcases and large backpacks in your car. Wynwood is an all-day walking around type of place 🙂 A small cross-body is all you need.
  4. Why am I accessorizing with a windbreaker? Well, if you’re from Florida…you’re cold ALL.THE.TIME. Especially in the A.C. And Wynwood is known to blast their A.C. It was lightweight so perfect for coffee shops or restaurants.

I’ve been more on the sporty side lately. I love the on-the-go feeling. Especially when traveling, you’ll always catch me looking a little “edgy.” So even though this outfit might not be considered to be hardcore fashionable, it definitely felt like it.

Last but not least, the pink wall. It’s actually on the same street as the white mural. You cannot go wrong with pink! I hope you enjoyed this travel/fashion post. I would love to know if you found it helpful, if you have any questions please let me know :) I can’t wait to see all of your photos! Don’t forget to tag me on Insta @monicapramos_

Enjoy Wynwood,

Until next time

Bloom, baby bloom!

“SPRING: A lovely reminder of how beautiful change can be…”

How’s 2017 going for you so far – everything running smooth and as planned? If so, I congratulate you! Sticking to a resolution is not easy, or change for that matter. That hasn’t really been the case for me and I think its important for me to keep my supporters in the loop of not only my triumphs but my downfalls and how I overcome life’s setbacks.

As many of you may understand, maintaining a social media presence is WORK -especially being a content creator in the online world. Being a blogger, it almost feels as if you’re expected to come up with fresh new ideas to share on a daily…thats just the business of it. HOWEVER… life happens, stuff comes up and not everything may go as planned. Unfortunately, moments like these for many of us result in being discouraged, unmotivated and feeling like you fell off the wagon.

“The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all.”

One of the hardest lessons in life is letting go. From a breakup,  experiencing a terrible eye opening situation at my previous employer to finally finding a better opportunity for my career all in first quarter…this year has been no walk in the park by any means.

I’ve done a lot of letting go of negative situations in my life lately which is why this stressful period has touched me so deeply. Here’s what I have learned so far this year:

  1. I realized that a successful relationship requires equal effort on both behalf’s. You can’t have someone love you more than you love them because thats being unfair to them and vice versa. When two people give effortlessly without expecting back, that’s when there is something special and one of a kind. Giving is such a wonderful thing, especially when it comes to a significant other…not sure why nowadays its all about being selfish and only thinking about “me, me, and me.” So, loving oneself sometimes means that if that is not returned, when given, its time to walk and not look back.
  2. (It is not easy to say this, because I know how certain things to share online are touchy subjects…but this particular issue would not be tolerated by anyone) no job on earth is worth having when you are mistreated, deceived and humiliated. It’s sad to say that women in the workplace to this day still feel like their voice can’t be heard even when seeking to resolve a problem effecting others. That was another negative I didn’t think twice to let go of.
  3. The only hope to look forward to is knowing something good always comes out of a a setback. I found a great opportunity that opened its doors to me, a PR and marketing firm that will help me learn and grow as a blogger.

I am not ashamed to express what I’m going through, because I care far more about my story inspiring or encouraging someone else. Besides, if you’re here to judge what are you doing here anyway.

“Wherever life takes you, bloom with grace.”

During this time, what helps to pick myself up is to think about what I’ve accomplished so far and what my next steps will be towards my goals. I give myself many, many, many pep-talks and tend to write a lot more often. It is then when I take a step back, observe and come up with the best approach to a situation.

What helps me a lot, is to take time off social media, spend quality time with friends and family, and travel! I love going to the other coast to Miami even if its just for the day – one of my favorite spots is the Wynwood Art District. I love art, photography, fashion and to be around such an area with such inspiration always motivates me.

Since its springtime in Florida, I like to stick to rompers. They’re effortless, cute, and comfortable! I found this one by MinkPink at Saks Off Fifth at Miramar Outlets (my favorite outlet mall in Florida!)

I know this post has been probably my longest, so I’ll leave you with this:  Finding the beauty in adversity is a beautiful thing. Bloom. Grow. Blossom. It’s your time to bloom. Be what YOU want to be…be with who YOU want to be…and most of all, be happy because life is unexpected.

Love you guys!!

Stripes & Spring: Miami Design District Edition

Springs are for new beginnings including new places to go and new things to see! I’m here to share the amazing wall I found in Miami’s Design District.

Living in the sunshine state (Florida) it is hot 90% of the time so I was excited to try on a new spring piece in Miami. I consider a perfect ootd to be the perfect mix of chic and comfort – this dress is a perfect example of that.

I was exploring the Design District and was so happy I was wearing something lightweight, flowy and effortless. Perfect for a day or night out during this time of year!

I found so many cool spots that I will be sharing over the next few weeks. If you’re interested in the exact location of this cool spot, keep reading I’ve put the location for you below.

On a personal level, I literally took a day off in the middle of the week to drive across the coast for a day of me time. Sometimes it is so necessary to take a break, put everything on hold and set some time aside for yourself to refocus on goals and priorities. I am going through some major life changes which I think are for the better.  So I leave you with this, “sometimes God forces us to bloom through hardships.” I believe the best in my life is yet to come! No matter how unclear a situation may seem,  good things happen when you work hard and stay humble. Always.

I hope you all enjoyed this post – please let me know if you visit this spot!

wynwood-steetstyle-16

Perfect Florida weather calls for a weekend in Miami. By that I mean, photos + Wynwood! The Miami Art District holds one of Miami’s most prominent scenes: Wynwood. Known for its art murals, hipster shops and craft made food and beer…Wynwood is definitely a must see when in Miami.

I had seen a few pictures on Pinterest with this exact wall – I’m obsessed because 1. I love stripes and 2. Who doesn’t love black & white? I made it my personal mission to find this wall. Turned out, this is an entire building with this pattern. How flattering!

Miami, FL weather in the first few weeks of November are heavenly. It’s still warm enough to be in shorts with a light breeze.

That’s why I decided these black Denim x Midi shorts from American Eagle were perfect. Originally $50, I received 40% off by shopping at Miromar Outlets.

This faded-like olive cami is from Forever 21 ($23) one of my favorite items in my closet!

All arm candy was from Miromar Outlets as well. Where I found pieces from J. Crew, Bauble Bar at Bloomigdales and Michael Kors.

Shoes: Forever 21 ($30) These tan, scrappy heels are worn very often.

Wynwood Street Style

FullSizeRenderIf you’re ever in Miami, FL and want to do something a little less South Beachy, I would suggest visiting Miami’s Art District. The ever so popular Wynwood – specifically speaking. It’s the perfect place to walk around, shop at local boutiques, and eat good. I mean really good. Miami’s Wynwood is similar to New York’s Brooklyn “hipster” scene. Filled with endless streets of art murals and all the modern art you can imagine. Continue reading “Wynwood Street Style”
