Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month: Mexican Cultural Dress Edition

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

The Latin Community celebrates Hispanic Heritage evert September. In honor of Mexican Independence Day on September 16th, I wanted to share details on my story and this vibrant, colorful dress!

After an amazing and unforgettable summer vacation with my family, I’ve been waiting to share this gem I found in a market in Mexico! These dresses are very authentic. People wear them on a daily, especially the older women. It’s very traditional. My favorite part about it is that its a one size fits all! Mexican culture is about being bright and colorful and standing out.

My parents came here to give us, their 3 daughters a better future. I spent some time in México this summer and witnessed the blood, sweat, and tears people go through firsthand, on a daily. It’s not the safest in some places, but the PEOPLE make the culture what it is. Our people are about helping one another, they are humble, they are hard working and they absolutely love life through it all. Those same principles exist in my household to this very day. I carry the good morals with and in me in every area in life. Relationships, friendships, and business. Knowing where I came from and recognizing everything my parents and family have gone through to be here is what FUELS me. And I’m gonna do it all for them.

Te amo México! Mi tierra linda y querida!!!💚

Latest & Greatest from Little Ol’ Me

More than halfway through 2017. Absolutely nothing has gone as planned…and I am truly the happiest I’ve ever been. There’s a saying that says, “everything happens for a reason” and quite frankly, I’ve been finding purpose behind every challenge I’ve face thus far, this year.

I took a short break from blogging, not because I wanted to (I love writing, sharing awesome experiences in cute outfits I mean, common…what girl doesn’t) but because I have been focused on much bigger goals for myself and my future that I can’t share just yet – but will very shortly love to!

One positive thing I will share is an amazing opportunity that was presented to me by Naples Daily News (our Naples local newspaper) and USA Today. On MONDAY August 28th, I will be sharing all that can be done in Naples, FL with only $100. This is going to be great exposure for me, and I am truly honored and beyond thankful that I was selected for such a great project.

On the other hand, now that summer is coming to an end, I wanted to share the last blog post I was SUPPOSED to be sharing until my life really got hectic. I haven’t even shared any of my Mexico trip details, I was there for nearly 2 weeks!

This was shot in one of my favorite places in Miami, The Design District. Fashion is art, so I was happy to hear all of the great feedback when I was walking around to take photos. I’m glad other people notice I have an eye for things! I paired this funky, back & white Victoria Beckham skirt with a bikini top.

Trust me, you would have been in a bathing suit it was SO hot! This is a typical Miami pool party ootd. Gals usually like to add some style even though they will be poolside, which I love! The whole shabang, hair, make-up & heels.

I have so much more to share! Please follow me on Instagram to be up to date with the latest and greatest going on in my little world! God bless you all ❤

Thanksgiving Day Outfit

If you’re wondering what to wear to Thanksgiving dinner this year, I put an outfit together just for you.

Now, I live in Florida but I’m assuming most people will be having dinner indoors. I chose neutral colors, which are super appropriate for fall.

These brown suede bell bottoms were bought for $30 at Forever 21. Any bottoms, whether a skirt or dress in this brown suede texture looks beautiful for this Holiday.

I paired the suede pants with a metallic polyester tank from Zara ($20) These mixed fabrics go along perfectly  and look divine, for a last minute outfit idea.

In case you were not aware, suede gives you a very stretchy and comfortable feel – similar to yoga pants. So do not be afraid to fill that belly this Thanksgiving! Trust me, I’ve passed the test and you have nothing to worry about 🙂

I would love to know and see what you decided to wear! So feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Follow me on Instagram: monicapramos_ to get the inside scoop on a Mexican Thanksgiving!

Wishing you and you’re family a great Thanksgiving!

Until next time,

Peace, love and blessings.

TRENDING: Oversized Sweaters & Over-The-Knee Boots

unnamed-10

Pairing an oversized sweater with over-the-knee boots is my absolute favorite fall look. It’s cute, comfy and effortless. Believe it or not, this BCBG Maxaria & Saks Off Fifth Look was only $200!

I found the perfect pair of navy blue-suede boots from BCBG Maxaria at Miromar Outlets ($120 – originally $200) during their Columbus Day weekend sale. It is a trend of this season and a must have in your closet. As I was taking my photos for this post, I had people stop and ask where I got my boots from, I said to myself “Wow, I’m really glad I chose this color.” I typically tend to stick to my blacks & neutrals – this color, is so UNIQUE the BCBG staff wouldn’t let me go with the black #GoodCall.

A cute cross-body bag is a perfect accessory for this outfit. Also, purchased at BCBG Maxaria – this bag was only ($36 – originally $60). This snake embossed navy blue cross body is so CLUTCH and is a great color to wear with any outfit this Fall.

My cold shoulder-oversized sweater is from Saks Off Fifth ($40) which I’m obsessed with. The cut of this sweater is so modern and stylish – to be worn on a nice day out or night out, giving you the ultimate comfort.

As a Native Floridian, I will tell you – rain, shine or humidity…true fashionistas will always pull out their fall attire during the “cold months” of the year. I hope this look has inspired you to invest in a nice pair of boots and perhaps and even an oversized sweater to find out how fab you’ll look and feel. You’re welcome in advance 🙂

Happy October & Happy Fall!

I’d love to know your thoughts on this look!

Until next time,

Peace, love & blessings.

HOMECOMING LOOKBOOK

img_2942

I’d like to start off by saying all of these (6) GORGEOUS dresses were purchased at Miromar Outlets with only $200…TOTAL! The deals they have here are SUREAL on name brand buys for anyone in the family and is my personal gem for shopping. Let’s not even get started with their Black Friday deals…

As my second lookbook, I decided to work on a homecoming theme. In hopes it’d be helpful for high school and college students attending this year.I attempted to select a variety of different trends – keeping in mind not everyone has the same style as myself.

So, without further ado…

GLAM ROCK

This Whyte Eyelash dress from Bloomingdales ($60) would typically be the furthest from my personal preference…or so I thought! I thought it turned out super cute and I LOVED the fit. The strapless dress had a very feminine yet cute, adorned with metallic studs for extra touch. This could be worn by anyone, especially if you have an edgy sense of style.

LBD

You can never go wrong with a little black dress. I found this fabulous find which is my personal favorite at Papaya ($25) I especially love the neckline and how comfortable the dress was. Definitely would wear this more than once!

ASYMMETRIC BANDAGE DRESS

This olive green dress was also purchased at Papaya ($23) I actually have one exactly like this in black that I paid over 4x the price for…talk about looks for less!

The Flirty Dress

I’m obsessed with the ruffles on this dress. I am a neutral tones type of gal and this pale pink color is to die for. Also purchased at Bloomingdales ($50) I would wear this dress to homecoming, dinner, church or an event!

TYPICAL LA IG MODEL DRESS

Did you catch the title on this dress? Am I right?! I’ve noticed this style is trending in bigger cities like L.A and Miami…but guess who found the look just in time for homecoming? This look is super classy and sexy with the most beautiful cuts! How often do you find a dress like this…hardly ever.

RED LACE DRESS

img_2934

This detailed red lace dress was found at Papaya ($25) That’s the fourth dress I bought from Papaya…it’s obviously my go-to store for more affordable trending looks. This dress stands out the most – it could be because of the color…or its intricacy, or both.

Over the years, I’ve realized homecoming dresses are a lot more versatile and can be worn more than once, as opposed to the traditional $200-$300 bedazzled dress that can only be worn once – like I did. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the dress…but I was probably the only one wearing a dress that could never be worn again. On top of that, my homecoming dress was borrowed by a good friend of mine!

I hope you found these looks to be helpful – I cannot tell you how thankful I am that I was able to find these type of unique dresses that can only be found at Miromar Outlets, in the SWFL area. Besides their amazing deals, the outlet mall is absolutely beautiful. Filled with dining, shops and so much more. Here are my favorite stores:

  1. Bloomingdales
  2. BCBG
  3. Papaya
  4. Bebe
  5. Banana Republic
  6. J. Crew
  7. Nike
  8. Reebok
  9. Saks
  10. Neiman Marcus

Let me know what you think, I’d love to know what you thought about this post and more importantly…what you wore! I hope you have a grand old time, in style.

Until next time,

Peace, love and blessings.

Back To School Lookbook

IMG_2053It’s that time of the year again! I decided to put my first lookbook together in honor of back to school. I’m very excited to share this with you! All of these looks express my personal style of how I would go to school, depending on my mood of course.

I present: The TomboyThe Girly Girl, the bohemian, and The Girl Next Door look.

Whenever you’re in a sporty mood, kicks are where you want to start with putting your outfit together. The red camo Nikes gave my tomboy look an edgy feel ($50). I wore a black F21 turtleneck crop top ($15) and paired it with these H&M olive pants ($20). I added a F21 jean jacket ($30) and a Herschel backpack ($40). I would wear something like this on a day where I’m not wanting so spend a lot of time on how I look.

I know what you’re thinking…that font reminds me of PLL (Pretty Little Liars) Lol, I promise it was not on purpose. I love me a good ole’ casual dress with a great cut…you know – the kind of dress that makes you feel comfortable yet beautiful. This is an everyday outfit that can be completed by simply adding a statement necklace.

For days when you are wanting to look cute, but not feeling like putting much effort into (which is how I feel almost EVERY day) – go with an oversized shirt. Works WONDERS. I’m aware classrooms are almost always cold – hence the scarf. If I could describe this look in one word…effortless.

The one girl who everyone admires for her modesty. I wore my favorite smoky black jeans from Zara ($40) a scarlet colored casual tank, an olive army jacket and some tan wedges. This is also appropriate for a casual college night out, or even Sunday brunch.

I can relate my personality to each of these different looks, as I’m sure you can too! Working full time and going to school part-time can be a struggle, so I 100% understand how spending hours on getting ready might not be a priority.  I hope these looks were helpful to put something quick and cute together! If you’re in school whether its middle school, high school, or college I wish you a great semester. Just don’t focus too much on getting an A+ on your style…get them grade A’s in formation!

Stay Tuned for my Labor Day Weekend Outfit post next! And also, my NYC lookbook! I’ll be traveling to the big apple tomorrow so be sure to follow me on the gram, snap, etc.

Thank you for reading. Until next time…peace love & blessings.
